Why Vote?
The municipal level of government has a far greater effect on your everyday life than the provincial or federal levels. The municipal election on November 13, 2006 is for the offices of mayor, councillor and school trustees. These local representatives make decisions on the services closest to you, including recreation programs, libraries, transit, fire services, road and sidewalk maintenance, parks, education, social services, and waste management. Your vote will ensure representatives such as Councillor Saito will continue to work hard to improve the quality of life for all residents of Ward 9.
Who Can Vote?
A person is entitled to be an elector if he/she:
- is a Canadian citizen
- is at least 18 years old
- resides in the local municipality
- is the owner or tenant of land in the local municipality, or a spouse, or same sex partner of such a person

New Boundaries for Ward 9
Effective with the November 2006 election, the boundaries for Ward 9 will be changing. Ward 9, with its present population of over 100,000 people will be split into Ward 9 and Ward 10.
I will be remaining in Ward 9 and, with your support, will continue to represent the residents in Meadowvale and Central Erin Mills. This covers all of the homes east of Tenth Line over to Erin Mills parkway north from Britannia and all the homes east of Winston Churchill over to Erin Mills Parkway north of Eglinton. Until the new Councillor is chosen for Ward 10 this November, I will still represent the entire existing Ward 9.

This split was necessary due to the large population in the existing ward. The new ward will have about 60,000 residents and will enable me and my staff to provide our citizens with even better service.
